In this example, there was a serious failure of process which led to a waste re-cycling operation being granted permission erroneously. There was a failure to send near neighbour consultation letters and a failure to consult the local authority’s Noise Pollution control team about the application. Waste recycling centers by their nature are noisy operations and the implications of locating one inappropriately can be grave.
